After training as a carpenter, Karl Jetzinger increasingly focused on sculpture from 1950 onwards. After half a year he broke off his studies in sculpture with Hans Knesl at the Academy of Applied Arts because he was having financial difficulties. From 1961 he worked as a freelance artist and took part in exhibitions. Many of his figures show young people, children as memories of his own childhood. His works are characterized by simplicity and inwardness, he created many sculptures for churches in Vienna.
