Eduard Ameseder was an Austrian painter who was born in Chernivtsi in 1856. He studied at the Vienna Art Academy under Christian Griepenkerl and Eduard Peithner von Lichtenfels and then in Karlsruhe under Gustav Schönleber. From 1893 the artist lived in Vienna, but undertook many trips, including to the Balkans and the North and Baltic Seas. He was a member of the Künstlerhaus Vienna, the Hagenbund and the Association of Visual Artists of Styria.
He is best known for his impressionistic landscapes and depictions of environments, but also worked as an illustrator.
